CHAIRMAN’S MESSAGE

T S KALADHARAN
Disruption at the Heart of Global Trade

Over the past several months, the GCC trade ecosystem has been navigating a period of unprecedented disruption – once again underscoring how closely global commerce is intertwined with geopolitics. The closure of the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most strategic maritime corridors, created ripple effects extending far beyond the Gulf region, impacting shipping networks, freight movements, energy markets, and supply chain reliability across continents.

For the logistics industry in the UAE and wider Middle East, these developments have served as a powerful reminder that resilience is no longer optional , it is essential. In an environment where uncertainty can reshape trade patterns overnight, adaptability and strategic foresight have become defining pillars of operational success.

Building Resilience through Strategy

At CSS, we have always believed that volatility is not an exception within logistics — it is the environment in which we operate. Our experience across global forwarding, warehousing, multimodal transport, and supply chain solutions has consistently reinforced the importance of building systems that are agile, responsive, and future-ready.

In moments such as these, our focus remains on transforming challenges into coordinated action. This includes activating alternative trade corridors, strengthening multimodal transportation capabilities, leveraging regional infrastructure, and ensuring operational continuity for our customers across key markets.

Equally important is the strength of collaboration. Our ability to respond effectively is shaped by the trust we share with customers, shipping lines, airline partners, authorities, and stakeholders throughout the supply chain ecosystem. By working collectively, we are able to create solutions that are not only responsive to present challenges, but sustainable for the future.

Through resilience, innovation, and strategic partnerships, we remain committed to moving forward with confidence – even amidst uncertainty.

INSIDE CSS – AEROSPACE LOGISTICS: PRECISION, SPEED, AND RELIABILITY

Aerospace logistics is a highly specialized domain that demands precision, speed, and strict compliance. At CSS Aviation and Defence Logistics, the focus is on delivering measurable value to airline partners. This includes reducing Aircraft on Ground (AOG) time, lowering operational costs, and improving fleet availability. Faster return-to-service (RTS) timelines remain a key priority.

In an industry where every minute counts, delays can have a significant financial and operational impact. Efficient logistics support ensures that critical aircraft components are delivered on time and handled with the utmost care. This directly contributes to minimizing downtime and maintaining operational continuity for airlines.

A vital component of this ecosystem is the 24/7 AOG hotline operated by CSS Dubai. This service ensures that customers receive immediate assistance for urgent shipments at any time. Whether it is a last-minute requirement or an emergency, the team is equipped to respond efficiently. This round-the-clock support reflects CSS’s commitment to reliability and customer-centric service.

Structured Maintenance and Operational Excellence

Aircraft maintenance follows a rigorous schedule to ensure safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance. These checks are categorized into A, B, C, and D checks, each serving a specific purpose.

A Checks: are routine inspections carried out every 400–600 flight hours or within one to two months. They involve light maintenance and basic system checks.

B Checks: are more detailed and typically conducted every six to eight months, covering systems such as avionics and hydraulics.

C Checks: are extensive and performed every 18–24 months. During this period, the aircraft is taken out of service for a thorough inspection.

D Checks: are the most comprehensive. Conducted every six to ten years, they involve complete disassembly, detailed inspection of the fuselage and wings, corrosion checks, and often refurbishment or repainting.

CSS Aviation and Defence Logistics works closely with airlines, MROs, and Ministries of Defence. The goal is to ensure the safe, compliant, and timely movement of critical and time-sensitive parts. Through expertise and coordination, CSS continues to support the global aviation industry with dependable logistics solutions

THE GLOBAL LENS – DUBAI’S DELIVERY SECTOR SHOWS STRONG RESILIENCE AMID GLOBAL CHALLENGES

Members of the Dubai Delivery Business Group, operating under the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, have highlighted the resilience and efficiency of Dubai’s delivery and last-mile logistics sector despite ongoing global challenges.

Industry leaders said Dubai continues to maintain smooth and uninterrupted delivery operations due to its advanced logistics infrastructure, supportive government policies, and strong public-private collaboration. The sector has successfully managed rising demand from both businesses and consumers while ensuring reliable and sustainable services.

Mehreen Inderyas, Chairwoman of the Dubai Delivery Business Group, said Dubai’s strategic location, diversified supply chains, and agile regulations have strengthened the sector’s ability to respond quickly to disruptions.

“The emirate’s agile regulatory framework and strong public-private collaboration have enabled rapid response to external disruptions, while advanced digital capabilities have ensured continuity and efficiency across last-mile operations,” she said.

Key factors supporting Dubai’s delivery sector include:

Advanced logistics and transport infrastructure

THE GLOBAL LENS – UAE’S EXIT FROM OPEC SIGNALS MAJOR SHIFT FOR ENERGY AND LOGISTICS SECTORS

The United Arab Emirates officially withdrew from OPEC and the wider OPEC+ alliance on May 1, ending more than five decades of membership and marking a major shift in its oil production strategy. Ahead of an OPEC meeting in Vienna, the UAE announced its withdrawal following a review of its production strategy and economic priorities. Officials said the move would provide greater flexibility in responding to market dynamics while supporting global energy stability.

Key developments linked to the UAE’s exit:
  • Greater freedom to increase oil production outside OPEC quotas
  • Plans to raise production capacity from 3.4 million to 5 million barrels per day by 2027
  • Increased activity at ports such as Jebel Ali Port
  • Higher tanker movement through the Strait of Hormuz
  • More variable shipping volumes and freight demand

Analysts say the move may also contribute to higher volatility in oil prices. Since fuel remains a major cost for trucking, aviation, and maritime transport, fluctuations in oil prices could directly affect freight rates, logistics planning, and delivery schedules across the region.

The decision also comes after a turbulent period for OPEC, when production fell 27% to 20.79 million barrels per day during a recent geopolitical crisis.

Diversification Strategy Strengthens UAE’s Logistics Position

The UAE’s departure from OPEC also reflects its broader economic diversification strategy. Non-oil sectors now account for nearly 75% of the country’s GDP, while investment continues in oil, gas, renewables, and low-carbon energy solutions.

At the same time, the UAE has strengthened its position as a global logistics and trade hub through:

  • Expansion of global port operations by DP World
  • Improved inland cargo connectivity through Etihad Rail
  • Growth in warehousing, multimodal transport, and re-export services
  • Increased focus on Asia-Europe-Africa trade corridors

The UAE’s withdrawal from OPEC+ reflects growing tensions over production quotas, particularly as some members expanded capacity beyond assigned output levels.

Although no immediate disruption is expected, the move could gradually reshape regional logistics networks, shipping activity, and global energy trade patterns in the years ahead.

Chairman’s Message

T S KALADHARAN

We are all shaken.

In recent days, as tensions escalated in our region, many of us have looked up at the night sky with unease. The sound of explosions, the breaking news alerts, the messages from family members checking in…

These are not abstract headlines. They are moments we are living through together.

We are operating in uncertain times. We are all anxious when events unfold so close to home. I know many of you are thinking not only about business continuity, but about your families, your children and your sense of security. And yet, even in this fragile atmosphere, something powerful is evident.

Standing Steadfast in Uncertain Times
While prioritizing national security, the leaders of the UAE have ensured that daily life continues with steadiness. Systems are functioning. Stability has not wavered. This steady resolve reminds us why the UAE has long been regarded as a safe haven. Security and stability are not slogans; they are commitments upheld through action.

It is in moments like these that we are reminded of a deeper truth, geopolitics is no longer distant from business. It shapes it.

“I commend the wisdom and foresight of the UAE’s leadership in navigating these complex circumstances with composure and strength. Their steady guidance reinforces confidence not only within our borders but across the global community.”

Geopolitics as a Defining Force
Recently, I read the Geopolitical Outlook for 2026 published by EY. The report describes our world as non-linear, accelerated, volatile and deeply interconnected. It reminds us that geopolitics is not a distant backdrop to business. It is a defining force shaping markets, supply chains and investment decisions. Risk, it suggests, is no longer occasional. It is structural.

One insight stood out to me: organizations that succeed in such an environment are those that strengthen resilience while continuing to pursue growth. Stability and ambition are not opposing choices. They must work together.

Looking Ahead with Hope
As we move forward, let us remain resilient without losing ambition. Let us stay grounded while thinking boldly. Let us support one another with empathy and strength.

It is my sincere hope and prayer that peace returns swiftly to the Middle East, that dialogue prevails over division, and that our region continues its journey toward stability, prosperity and harmony.

The road ahead may demand steadiness and courage — but with clear vision and collective resolve, I am confident that we will continue to rise.

INSIDE CSS : A WORKPLACE REIMAGINED: INSIDE THE REVAMPED CSS OFFICE

A familiar space now tells a new story. The CSS Office, originally built nearly three decades ago, has been transformed into a vibrant, modern workplace. The revamp reflects growth, progress, and a modern way of working. What was once a traditional office is now a future-ready workplace. The newly redesigned workplace was officially inaugurated on 26 February 2026, marking the beginning of a new chapter for CSS.

Over the years, teams expanded, roles diversified, and workplace expectations changed significantly. The earlier setup, though functional, no longer represented the pace and vision of a forward-moving organisation. The recent revamp marks an important milestone — not simply a renovation, but a reimagining of how a workspace can support people, ideas, and performance.

The redesign focuses on openness, comfort, and efficiency. Seating capacity has increased to support a growing workforce. A minimalistic design philosophy guides the overall aesthetic, allowing the space to feel modern without overwhelming the senses. Modern lighting brightens every corner, and that immediately makes it feel more welcoming and energetic.

The result is an office that feels alive from the moment one walks in.

The shipment included both fuel and hybrid models of cars from manufacturers such as BYD, Changan Automobile, Toyota, and Mercedes-Benz. The operations were executed under the able management of the logistics team at CSS Group, whose operational capabilities ensured smooth coordination from vessel arrival to storage and handling. The team’s expertise in planning, inspection, and ground support enabled efficient execution across every stage of the process.

RO/RO Operations and Destuffing Services

Roll-on/roll-off (Ro/Ro) logistics relies on specialized vessels and rail systems designed to load and unload wheeled cargo by driving vehicles on and off via ramps. This method enables the safe and efficient movement of cars, trucks, trailers, and specialized automotive units.

Destuffing operations included unloading vehicles, customs clearance, delivery to designated open yards, and systematic inspection. VINs were checked and verified for identification, while physical assessments were conducted to record scratches or damage.

Additional operational support included:

  • Jump-starting of vehicles that did not start
  • Refueling units without fuel from nearby petrol stations.
  • Inflating flat tyres using air compressors.
  • Washing services when required to maintain vehicle condition before storage or dispatch.
Storage, Coordination, and End-to-End Handling

Open yard storage was organized across key logistics hubs, including Jebel Ali Free Zone, Dubai World Central, and Sharjah Airport International Free Zone. These locations provided structured storage, accessibility for inspections, and readiness for onward distribution.

The movement of these vehicles without delays showed coordinated planning and operational discipline. Each step—from documentation and customs clearance to transport, offloading, and storage—was carried out through an integrated logistics system designed to reduce downtime and ensure asset safety.

With three decades of experience in logistics operations, the organization has developed the capability to manage high-value and technically sensitive automotive shipments. Emphasis remains on precision transport, controlled handling, and secure storage, ensuring vehicles are delivered in operational condition and within defined timelines.

THE GLOBAL LENS : INDIA AND UAE DEEPEN STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP THROUGH ENERGY AND TRADE AGREEMENTS

India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have strengthened their bilateral relationship through new agreements focused on energy supply, trade expansion, and defence cooperation. The announcements were made during UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s official visit to New Delhi on January 19.

The UAE President held talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a brief two-hour visit. Despite the short duration, the meeting delivered significant outcomes aimed at deepening economic and strategic collaboration between the two countries.

Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to expanding long-term cooperation and supporting shared growth objectives. The visit highlighted the growing importance of India–UAE relations in an evolving global economic and geopolitical environment.

Long-Term LNG Supply Strengthens Energy Cooperation

A key outcome of the visit was the signing of a $3 billion liquefied natural gas (LNG) agreement between ADNOC Gas and India’s Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL). Under the 10-year contract, ADNOC Gas will supply 0.5 million metric tonnes of LNG annually to India.

The agreement provides India with a reliable and stable energy supply. It also helps reduce exposure to fluctuating spot market prices while supporting the country’s transition toward cleaner energy sources.

ADNOC Gas stated that the deal increases the total value of its LNG agreements with Indian companies to more than $20 billion. The company also confirmed that India has become its largest LNG customer, highlighting the country’s growing role in ADNOC Gas’ long-term strategy. Energy cooperation continues to remain a central pillar of India–UAE relations, supporting both economic development and energy security goals.

Trade Expansion and Defence Collaboration

Trade growth formed another major focus of the discussions. India and the UAE agreed to work toward doubling bilateral trade to $200 billion within the next six years. The UAE is currently India’s third-largest trading partner, and both countries see strong potential for further expansion across multiple sectors.

The UAE President was accompanied by senior officials, including defence and foreign ministers, reflecting the broad scope of cooperation. During the visit, both sides signed a letter of intent to develop a strategic defence partnership aimed at enhancing dialogue and security cooperation. The agreement does not imply involvement in regional conflicts; instead, it focuses on strengthening collaboration while maintaining independent foreign policy positions. The visit comes at a time of shifting regional dynamics and evolving alliances. Against this backdrop, India and the UAE emphasized stability, economic cooperation, and mutual trust.

Overall, the agreements underline a shared vision for stronger economic integration and long-term partnership. Enhanced cooperation in energy, trade, and defence is expected to create new opportunities for businesses while reinforcing regional stability and growth.

18 participants from the Forwarding – Sales Department.

The objective of the session was to strengthen participants’ understanding of the International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code and increase awareness of safety protocols related to the handling and transportation of dangerous goods by sea. The IMDG Code is an internationally recognized regulation that provides guidelines for the safe classification, packaging, labeling, documentation, handling, and
stowage of hazardous materials, ensuring the protection of human life, vessels, cargo, and the marine environment.

The session enhanced participants’ understanding of the IMDG Code and its role in ensuring the safe sea transport of dangerous goods. It covered the scope, purpose, and importance of the Code in global maritime safety. Participants learned about dangerous goods classification, correct packaging, marking, labeling, and documentation requirements for compliance. The session also explained segregation and stowage procedures, highlighting how improper placement of goods can increase safety risks.

Special attention was given to the responsibilities of freight forwarders, stressing the importance of accurate declaration, proper handling, and strict adherence to safety regulations to prevent accidents and ensure safe transportation.

Building Regulatory Awareness and Operational Excellence

To make the session more engaging and practical, the presentation incorporated real-life examples of commonly used products that fall under the category of dangerous goods. Everyday items such as aerosols, paints, lithium batteries, and cleaning agents that are classified as dangerous goods under international regulations were showcased to demonstrate how they can pose significant risks if misclassified, improperly packed, or incorrectly declared. The training also provided detailed insights into critical documentation requirements, including the correct use of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and Dangerous Goods Declarations.

Participants were briefed on the importance of accurate and consistent documentation, as even minor errors can result in operational delays, regulatory penalties, or safety incidents. The session provided clear guidance on regulations, responsibilities, and best practices to ensure the safe handling and movement of dangerous goods, enabling participants to educate customers effectively and support business growth.

In addition, the session included a brief overview of the International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR), providing participants with a broader understanding of the dangerous goods regulations. Industry case references were shared to demonstrate how improper handling, misdeclaration, and non-compliance can lead to accidents, cargo damage, environmental harm, and financial or reputational losses. Interactive case exercises were conducted to reinforce safety awareness and enable participants to apply their knowledge through practical, real-world scenarios.

Fostering a Culture of Compliance and Shared Responsibility

The training session was well-received and successfully fostered a culture of proactive learning and regulatory awareness within the organization. Practical tips and best practices were shared to help employees process approvals more efficiently, leading to smoother operational workflows and enhanced customer satisfaction. Strong emphasis was placed on individual responsibility, reinforcing that safety is a shared duty across all functions, not limited to specialized departments. The interactive session encouraged active participation, allowing attendees to ask questions and clarify their doubts for a deeper practical understanding. Discussions highlighted the broader impact of compliance in protecting operations, human life, port authorities, vessels, and the marine environment, reinforcing that regulatory compliance is a core element of responsible and sustainable business practices.

Consolidated Shipping Services LLC remains committed to continuous learning and development, equipping employees with the necessary knowledge and skills to handle every shipment with the highest level of care. Through such initiatives, the company continues to strengthen its commitment to international safety standards, operational excellence, and customer trust.

Chairman’s Message

T S KALADHARAN
REFLECTING ON A YEAR OF TRANSFORMATION AND LOOKING AHEAD WITH PURPOSE

As we turn the page to 2026, I find myself reflecting on a year that proved our agility, strengthened our partnerships, and reminded us of the enduring power of people working together.

The past year was one of profound change for the global logistics sector. Through shifting market dynamics, technological acceleration, and new ways of working, CSS has remained steady in our purpose: to move the world forward through reliable, human-centered logistics.

Reading the Market – Navigating an Evolving Freight Landscape
The global freight environment continues to evolve, with shifting patterns across major trade routes. Despite market fluctuations, reliability has improved year-over-year—proof that our industry continues to learn and invest in stability even amid uncertainty. This resilience reaffirms that while logistics is cyclical, excellence must always be constant. At CSS, we have continued to invest in strengthening our network agility, improving visibility, and aligning our operations with customer priorities. These steps ensure that, no matter how markets move, we remain dependable partners in a world where predictability is precious

The Human Side of the AI Revolution
2026 is shaping up to be a year of transformation, particularly in how organizations integrate artificial intelligence (AI).

As highlighted by recent research, leaders are facing an “AI reckoning”—a moment that requires evolving governance to ensure technology amplifies human judgment rather than replaces it.

At CSS, we see AI as a force for empowerment. Humans and intelligent systems now work side by side, automating routine tasks and creating space for creativity.

One global logistics company recently reported that AI has already performed over three million shipping-related tasks. This isn’t about replacing people; it’s about freeing them to focus on what truly matters: relationships, strategy, and innovation.

Technology will transform our workflows, but it will always serve the human spirit—the judgment and empathy that no algorithm can replicate.

Building a Responsible Future
This extraordinary opportunity calls for care. We must establish robust ethical frameworks to ensure AI is deployed transparently, inclusively, and with accountability. Our focus for 2026 is to embed technology meaningfully, ensuring innovation at CSS always advances trust and sustainability.

Our People, Our Power
Through every shift, one constant has guided us: our people. To every member of the CSS family — thank you; you are the heartbeat of our company. To our partners and customers — your trust fuels our ambition. 2025 was about navigating complexity, but 2026 is about consolidating what we’ve built, innovating, and elevating every aspect of our operations. We will continue to refine our processes and advance our digital journey. Here’s to a year of purposeful growth, shared success and human-driven innovation.

STRATEGY MEET 2025: ALIGNING VISION, STRENGTHENING NETWORKS, AND DRIVING GROWTH

From 5 to 7 December 2025, the CSS Group convened its annual Strategy Meet 2025 at the Radisson Resort Ras Al Khaimah Marjan Island, a beachside getaway set on the stunning Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah. The resort, with its direct access to the beach, panoramic views of the surrounding blue waters, and vibrant on-site amenities, provided an ideal setting for focused discussions and strategic alignment. Over three intensive days, leaders and teams from across regions and business verticals came together to review performance, align on priorities, and define a clear roadmap for the year ahead.

Day 1: Strengthening the Core Network

The first day was dedicated to the NVO Division, with a strong focus on sales strategy, operational performance, and regional business development across CSS offices. The sessions opened with Chandra Kala, who set the tone by outlining the objectives and strategic priorities of the NVO Division, emphasising the importance of alignment, consistency, and execution across markets.

The morning sessions focused on strengthening the overseas network, highlighting the need for structured information flow, stronger coordination, and data-driven engagement with international partners. This was followed by a detailed overview of the local NVO sales strategy, outlining market opportunities, sales priorities, and tactical approaches to enhance performance.

Operational insights formed a key part of the discussions, with a comprehensive review of TEU performance and operational strategy. The session provided clarity on efficiency improvements, capacity planning, and process optimisation to support growth.

Regional perspectives were then shared through a series of presentations from CSS offices, covering NVO and forwarding operations, sales performance, and market-specific business strategies across the Middle East and Africa. These sessions offered a clear view of regional strengths, challenges, and growth opportunities, reinforcing the importance of a connected and agile regional network.

The day concluded with a group-level NVO network session focused on strengthening regional connectivity and maximising the collective capabilities of the CSS network. Chandra Kala closed the NVO Day with comprehensive remarks, summarising key takeaways and presenting the overall NVO strategy and forward roadmap.

Day 2: Expanding Capabilities and Market Reach

The second day was dedicated to the Forwarding Division and covered a broad range of functions, including sales, products, operations, supply chain, projects, technology, and marketing. The sessions began with a clear outline of objectives and a structured framework for the day’s discussions.

The Dubai sales outlook set the context, detailing local market strategy and business development priorities. This was followed by product-focused sessions on air and ocean freight, highlighting service offerings, growth opportunities, market dynamics, and pricing approaches.

Functional presentations added depth to the discussions, covering supply chain and contract logistics, key accounts, customer service, and sales coordination, with a strong emphasis on service excellence and cross-functional collaboration. The projects segment focused on specialised and project cargo opportunities at both group and regional levels.

Operational performance was reviewed through an in-depth analysis of forwarding TEU performance and operations strategy, providing insights into volume trends, efficiency improvements, and process optimisation. Regional forwarding strategies were also presented, highlighting market opportunities and growth plans.

Moving Forward Together

Strategy Meet 2025 brought together teams from across functions and regions under a shared vision and common purpose. Over three focused days, priorities were aligned, performance reviews were conducted, valuable insights were exchanged, and collaboration was strengthened across the Group. The discussions reinforced our commitment to growth, operational excellence, and deeper regional integration, while ensuring clarity on the road ahead.

The meeting concluded on a memorable note with a Dunes Safari experience, providing a relaxed and informal setting for reflection and connection. Away from meeting rooms and presentations, colleagues had the opportunity to engage, unwind, and build stronger relationships. This closing experience reflected the spirit of unity, trust, and teamwork that defines us.

As CSS moves into the next phase of our journey, the alignment and energy from Strategy Meet 2025 will continue to guide us forward—together, focused, and ready for growth.
