Transporting such a large and delicate cargo is a complex undertaking that requires specialized expertise and close coordination. Given the boat’s size, moving it during regular hours was not feasible due to traffic and safety concerns. Also, the boat’s considerable dimensions necessitated the use of escort vehicles and specialized permits. To minimize disruption, the CSS team scheduled the move for the night, complying with local transport regulations for oversized cargo.

CSS’s transport team, working in tandem with regulatory bodies, carefully mapped out the path, coordinating with local authorities to guarantee uninterrupted passage. The teams also arranged for escort vehicles and secured specialized permits to ensure safe and smooth passage. Every step, from timing to traffic management, was meticulously thought out to avoid delays and ensure the vessel’s safety. The team’s attention to detail ensured that the 45-foot boat was transported safely!

Powering this innovation is a new solar-powered charging station built at the Gemalink terminal in Cai Mep Port, the country’s key container gateway. The solar farm is expected to generate up to one gigawatt-hour (GWh) of renewable energy annually, allowing the barge to operate entirely on clean electricity.
