ROWMAH’S 20-YEAR ODYSSEY WITH CSS: A JOURNEY OF PROGRESS, CONFIDENCE, AND GROWTH

Embarking on a two-decade-long journey with CSS, Rowmah shared insights into his experiences, favorite memories, and the pride of being a part of CSS, as the company sails into its 30th year.

“Every memory with CSS is intertwined with the confidence that the company has in its abilities. The trust instilled by leaders at CSS and the evolving assignments over time has been instrumental in my growth within the organization” says Rowmah over a cup of coffee.

While CSS approaches its 30th year, let me express a deep sense of pride in witnessing the company’s growth into a formidable force in the logistics market. Being a part of CSS’s transformative journey was a learning opportunity that will be always cherished.

I was picked by our Chairman for my cricketing skills to join the CSS cricket team as an Office Clerk, but that became an entry from the cricket field into the logistics field. The opportunity given to me to showcase my sporting abilities led to getting more responsibilities within the company. CSS groomed me personally and professionally to manage the entire Documentation Department. It is surely a testament to the opportunities and mentorship provided by CSS.

Integrity and honesty in life are two important traits one should have. This is the primary advice I give to the younger generations, and surely the new generation should have a willingness to learn and adapt to newer technological developments. I have also looked upon everyone as role models. It is simple, while you try to see the positive side of a person, ignore the other.

My childhood dream was to achieve stardom in the game of cricket, as a dashing opening batsman. I am always grateful to cricket, as the game fetched me a role at CSS which crafted me to be a logistics professional.

My mantra is “hear first and then speak.” This valuable mantra has always helped me, personally and professionally. The importance of active listening, understanding the situation, and delivering if required, helps me to stay “ as cool as a cucumber” This quote always reminds me of Mr Navjot Singh Sidhu’s famous tagline during his cricket commentary.
