CSS INDUSTRIAL PROJECTS SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE SEAMLESS TRANSPORTATION OF MASSIVE TOWER

The year 2023 began with CSS Dubai undertaking a mammoth project for transporting a giant tower weighing 103 tons with dimensions of 60m x 4.25m x 4.45m. The project involved moving this massive tower across Sheikh Zayed Road, one of the busiest and arterial roads in the metropolis of Dubai all the way to Jebel Ali Port to load on the Vessel chartered by CSS on their journey to final destination.

Scope And Scale of The Operation

There are two main ways to move such structures : disassembling and then reassembling them at the required destination or transporting it whole. As this project requires the latter, 2 files of 12 axle conventional hydraulic trailer with bolster attachment, were used. The tower was shifted onto the truck using two giant cranes. These moves can be complicated and require precision and careful attention at every step. The tower was inspected, and it was ready to be transported on the road after clearance.

The truck had to be accompanied by private and police escort vehicles throughout its journey to the destination. Diligent planning and a thorough route survey were the order of the day considering all risk assessment. On approaching Sheikh Zayed Road, the truck had to manoeuvre a challenging U-turn. This was a crucial point in the whole endeavour. The biggest challenge was crossing one of the busiest roads in UAE by removing barricades to bypass the Jebel Ali bridge.

Seamless Integration and Team Work – The Secret of Our Success

The large and bulky towers require diligent planning due to the difficulty in transportation. However, with a well-planned transportation strategy the team could overcome these challenges.
The first step in this herculean project was to define the parties involved. The team at CSS Industrial Projects developed a shared understanding of the required data and integrated all the stakeholders involved. The vessel operators, the partners, the Dubai Police, the Road Transportation Authority, and CSS Industrial Project Team were seamlessly integrated to undertake this gigantic transportation project.

CSS Industrial Projects – On the Road, For You and with You
The CSS Group offers state-of-the-art land transportation solutions in the region. With its fleet of trucks trailers, and a state-of-the-art marshalling facility, it can undertake such large-scale and challenging operations. Skilled and experienced professionals can provide tailor-made logistical solutions that can cater to even your most challenging assignments.

Under the guidance of Mr. Sunny Xavier, Mr. Arun Peethamparan & Mr. Renjith Pillai, the CSS Industrial Projects team saw that this operation sailed through with minimal issues. Their tireless efforts and sleepless nights ensured the success of this project.
The successful completion of this project was indeed a proud moment for CSS Group Dubai. The Industrial Projects team of CSS lived up to their motto – “On the Road, For You, with You” during the entire project. The hard work, dedication, and coordination that the team showcased were exemplary.
The success of this project adds yet another feather to CSS’s cap and is testimony to CSS’s prowess to undertake Industrial Projects of any scale and proportion.

Almost 50,000 professionals from the logistics, cargo and foreign trade industries gathered in Sao Paulo for the three-day event, the largest event of its kind in Latin America. Brazil can rely on companies from the logistics, cargo transport and international trade sectors to overcome the current crisis atmosphere. In an environment where this word was traded for others such as investment, business and proactivity, over the three days of Intermodal South America, the production chains of these sectors provided a demonstration that it is possible to quickly return to a virtuous circle of growth. From April 5th to 7th at the Transamerica Expo Centre, São Paulo, the event brought together 600 brands from 25 countries as exhibitors and a highly knowledgeable audience of attendees, primarily executives with high levels of decision-making power.

“This 22nd edition of Intermodal has enabled companies to be certain that an atmosphere of crisis can be overcome with more investment and boldness. The ability to recover shown by these sectors is notable and our mission is precisely to stimulate and boost the success of the companies that exhibit with us, gathering together interests and promoting discussions on essential themes for the development of the market in Brazil and Latin America”, said Jean-François Quentin, CEO of UBM Brazil, the event promoter.

Currently this service is being provided from Jebel Ali, but a road map is being designed to expand this to the rest of the Middle East using the CSS Group’s significant footprint across the Middle East Region.

The CSS Group’s strong presence in the relocation segment of our industry has also been assisted with boosting Pangaea Cargo’s other area of strength, which is removals and relocation. Abras -The Traditional Mode of Transport

Cultural Corner

Forget the luxury yachts heading to Dubai Marina, there are other traditional ways of seeing Dubai and hopping on an Abra is one of the most enjoyable.

Taking an Abra is the most cost effective and enjoyable way to cross the beautiful Dubai Creek. The Abra has been an integral part of Dubai’s history. It is a small motorized traditional commuter boat made of wood intended to travel across Dubai Creek, which in years gone by was one of the main modes of transport in Dubai.

It is still a vital mode of transport used by over 1 million people every month including local residents, business people and commuters trying to beat the traffic.
The Abra is now a well-respected tourist icon in addition to being a vital mode of transport. It’s not uncommon for tourists to privately hire an Abra to further enjoy the stunning Dubai Creek scenery.

An Abra ride commences when the boat is full, normally about 20 passengers, the driver sits in the centre of the boat, whilst the passengers sit facing out, circling the driver.  The fare for an abra ride is about 1 Dirham per person and is paid to the driver. The journey to cross the creek will only take around 10 minutes and is used by about 42,000 people daily.

If you are the type of person who likes to immerse themselves in tradition then an Abra ride is a must. It will expose you to the lesser known side of hustling and bustling Dubai. As you step on board there is a genuine feeling of history.

CSS Attends Arabian Travel Market

Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2014, the region’s leading travel industry showcase, celebrated its 21st edition which took place at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre from May 5 to 8, 2014. The exhibition welcomed over 4000 exhibitors from 95 countries with exhibition floor space covering more than 25,000 square meters.

Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the show has grown to become the largest showcase of its kind in the region and one of the biggest in the world.

One of the main highlights of the exhibition was the Middle East’s cruise sector which was highly visible and well represented at this year’s Arabian Travel Market. Having been in decline since the global downturn and the subsequent effects of the Arab Spring the cruise sector has seen a recent bounce back with significant infrastructure investment, easing visa regulations and creative marketing.?One challenge that the region faced was the lack of ports of call and the location of cruise facilities – most of the berths for cruise vessels were located within commercial shipping ports, which was not particularly conducive for leisure visitors. In response, Mina Zayed Port in Abu Dhabi is currently undergoing major redevelopment creating a dedicated cruise terminal. Dubai has been upgrading Port Rashid to accommodate seven vessels simultaneously, up from the current five, as part of its strategy to attract 450,000 cruise tourists by 2016.

ATM 2014 encompasses more than 40 wide-ranging seminar and tech theatre sessions which besides cruise tourism cover aviation, mobile trends and the rising demand for wellness tourism.
