In recent days, as tensions escalated in our region, many of us have looked up at the night sky with unease. The sound of explosions, the breaking news alerts, the messages from family members checking in…

These are not abstract headlines. They are moments we are living through together.

We are operating in uncertain times. We are all anxious when events unfold so close to home. I know many of you are thinking not only about business continuity, but about your families, your children and your sense of security. And yet, even in this fragile atmosphere, something powerful is evident.

Standing Steadfast in Uncertain Times
While prioritizing national security, the leaders of the UAE have ensured that daily life continues with steadiness. Systems are functioning. Stability has not wavered. This steady resolve reminds us why the UAE has long been regarded as a safe haven. Security and stability are not slogans; they are commitments upheld through action.

It is in moments like these that we are reminded of a deeper truth, geopolitics is no longer distant from business. It shapes it.

Geopolitics as a Defining Force
Recently, I read the Geopolitical Outlook for 2026 published by EY. The report describes our world as non-linear, accelerated, volatile and deeply interconnected. It reminds us that geopolitics is not a distant backdrop to business. It is a defining force shaping markets, supply chains and investment decisions. Risk, it suggests, is no longer occasional. It is structural.

One insight stood out to me: organizations that succeed in such an environment are those that strengthen resilience while continuing to pursue growth. Stability and ambition are not opposing choices. They must work together.

Looking Ahead with Hope
As we move forward, let us remain resilient without losing ambition. Let us stay grounded while thinking boldly. Let us support one another with empathy and strength.

It is my sincere hope and prayer that peace returns swiftly to the Middle East, that dialogue prevails over division, and that our region continues its journey toward stability, prosperity and harmony.

The road ahead may demand steadiness and courage — but with clear vision and collective resolve, I am confident that we will continue to rise.

INSIDE CSS : A WORKPLACE REIMAGINED: INSIDE THE REVAMPED CSS OFFICE

A familiar space now tells a new story. The CSS Office, originally built nearly three decades ago, has been transformed into a vibrant, modern workplace. The revamp reflects growth, progress, and a modern way of working. What was once a traditional office is now a future-ready workplace. The newly redesigned workplace was officially inaugurated on 26 February 2026, marking the beginning of a new chapter for CSS.

Over the years, teams expanded, roles diversified, and workplace expectations changed significantly. The earlier setup, though functional, no longer represented the pace and vision of a forward-moving organisation. The recent revamp marks an important milestone — not simply a renovation, but a reimagining of how a workspace can support people, ideas, and performance.

The redesign focuses on openness, comfort, and efficiency. Seating capacity has increased to support a growing workforce. A minimalistic design philosophy guides the overall aesthetic, allowing the space to feel modern without overwhelming the senses. Modern lighting brightens every corner, and that immediately makes it feel more welcoming and energetic.

The result is an office that feels alive from the moment one walks in.

The redesign focuses on openness, comfort, and efficiency. Seating capacity has increased to support a growing workforce, guided by a minimalistic design philosophy that feels modern without overwhelming the senses. The most significant changes appear in the everyday work zones:

Meeting PODs: Three newly added pods provide quiet zones for focused conversations, private discussions, and uninterrupted client calls, effectively reducing distractions.

Pantry: Previously a functional corner, it has evolved into an inviting social hub. With expanded seating and an improved layout, it encourages employees to pause, recharge, and connect over coffee or shared lunches.

Room: This new area adds another dimension to the office. Designed with an open atmosphere, it serves as both a recreation area and a training room for team workshops and learning sessions.

Creativity Meets a Future-Ready Vision

The revamped office is not only functional but also visually inspiring. Colourful wall art and caricature installations add character and personality throughout the workspace. These visual elements provide refreshing mental breaks during busy days. They also stimulate creative thinking and positive energy.

Digitalisation plays an important role in the redesign. The office now focuses on reducing wastage and improving efficiency. The minimalistic approach supports sustainability while maintaining functionality.

Every aspect of the transformation reflects modern workplace values. Open-air concepts, specialised meeting spaces, collaborative zones, and employee-focused amenities come together to create a balanced environment where productivity and well-being coexist. The office now aligns with contemporary work ethics, prioritising flexibility, teamwork, and innovation. This transformation is more than a physical upgrade. It represents a shift toward a modern work culture.

INSIDE CSS : PRECISION AUTOMOTIVE LOGISTICS IN MOTION

Large-scale automotive logistics operates on strict timing, coordination, and technical accuracy. The completion of RO/RO operations and destuffing for more than 1,500 vehicles highlights the scale and precision required in modern automotive supply chains. The shipment included both fuel and hybrid models of cars from manufacturers such as BYD, Changan Automobile, Toyota, and Mercedes-Benz. The operations were executed under the able management of the logistics team at CSS Group, whose operational capabilities ensured smooth coordination from vessel arrival to storage and handling. The team’s expertise in planning, inspection, and ground support enabled efficient execution across every stage of the process.

RO/RO Operations and Destuffing Services

Roll-on/roll-off (Ro/Ro) logistics relies on specialized vessels and rail systems designed to load and unload wheeled cargo by driving vehicles on and off via ramps. This method enables the safe and efficient movement of cars, trucks, trailers, and specialized automotive units.

Destuffing operations included unloading vehicles, customs clearance, delivery to designated open yards, and systematic inspection. VINs were checked and verified for identification, while physical assessments were conducted to record scratches or damage.

Additional operational support included:

• Jump-starting of vehicles that did not start
• Refueling units without fuel from nearby petrol stations.
• Inflating flat tyres using air compressors.
• Washing services when required to maintain vehicle condition before storage or dispatch.

Storage, Coordination, and End-to-End Handling

Open yard storage was organized across key logistics hubs, including Jebel Ali Free Zone, Dubai World Central, and Sharjah Airport International Free Zone. These locations provided structured storage, accessibility for inspections, and readiness for onward distribution.

The movement of these vehicles without delays showed coordinated planning and operational discipline. Each step—from documentation and customs clearance to transport, offloading, and storage—was carried out through an integrated logistics system designed to reduce downtime and ensure asset safety.

With three decades of experience in logistics operations, the organization has developed the capability to manage high-value and technically sensitive automotive shipments. Emphasis remains on precision transport, controlled handling, and secure storage, ensuring vehicles are delivered in operational condition and within defined timelines.

THE GLOBAL LENS : INDIA AND UAE DEEPEN STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP THROUGH ENERGY AND TRADE AGREEMENTS

India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have strengthened their bilateral relationship through new agreements focused on energy supply, trade expansion, and defence cooperation. The announcements were made during UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s official visit to New Delhi on January 19.

The UAE President held talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a brief two-hour visit. Despite the short duration, the meeting delivered significant outcomes aimed at deepening economic and strategic collaboration between the two countries.

Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to expanding long-term cooperation and supporting shared growth objectives. The visit highlighted the growing importance of India–UAE relations in an evolving global economic and geopolitical environment.

Long-Term LNG Supply Strengthens Energy Cooperation

A key outcome of the visit was the signing of a $3 billion liquefied natural gas (LNG) agreement between ADNOC Gas and India’s Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL). Under the 10-year contract, ADNOC Gas will supply 0.5 million metric tonnes of LNG annually to India.

The agreement provides India with a reliable and stable energy supply. It also helps reduce exposure to fluctuating spot market prices while supporting the country’s transition toward cleaner energy sources.

ADNOC Gas stated that the deal increases the total value of its LNG agreements with Indian companies to more than $20 billion. The company also confirmed that India has become its largest LNG customer, highlighting the country’s growing role in ADNOC Gas’ long-term strategy. Energy cooperation continues to remain a central pillar of India–UAE relations, supporting both economic development and energy security goals.

Trade Expansion and Defence Collaboration

Trade growth formed another major focus of the discussions. India and the UAE agreed to work toward doubling bilateral trade to $200 billion within the next six years. The UAE is currently India’s third-largest trading partner, and both countries see strong potential for further expansion across multiple sectors.

The UAE President was accompanied by senior officials, including defence and foreign ministers, reflecting the broad scope of cooperation. During the visit, both sides signed a letter of intent to develop a strategic defence partnership aimed at enhancing dialogue and security cooperation. The agreement does not imply involvement in regional conflicts; instead, it focuses on strengthening collaboration while maintaining independent foreign policy positions. The visit comes at a time of shifting regional dynamics and evolving alliances. Against this backdrop, India and the UAE emphasized stability, economic cooperation, and mutual trust.

Overall, the agreements underline a shared vision for stronger economic integration and long-term partnership. Enhanced cooperation in energy, trade, and defence is expected to create new opportunities for businesses while reinforcing regional stability and growth.

THE GLOBAL LENS : AI-POWERED AUTONOMOUS TRUCKS SET TO TRANSFORM SUPPLY CHAIN LOGISTICS

Artificial Intelligence is rapidly changing how supply chains operate. From autonomous trucks to real-time logistics planning, AI is helping companies move goods faster, safer, and more efficiently. Autonomous vehicle technology is rapidly reshaping the future of supply chain logistics. From controlled demonstrations to real-world testing and commercial deployment; self-driving freight solutions are moving closer to everyday operations. Truck manufacturer Scania is among the companies leading this transition, showcasing how automation can improve efficiency, safety, and sustainability across logistics networks.

A recent demonstration near Scania’s headquarters in Södertälje, Sweden, highlighted the precision of autonomous systems. Two self-driving trucks executed a carefully synchronised maneuver, stopping just centimetres apart with millimetre-level accuracy. The gap between the vehicles allowed extreme sports athlete Matt Jones to cycle through on a mountain bike, creating a striking visual example of the technology’s reliability.

The demonstration was conducted in collaboration with AI technology partner PlusAI and Red Bull. Beyond the spectacle, the stunt served as a proof-of-concept for autonomous freight systems designed to address ongoing industry challenges such as driver shortages, operational inefficiencies, and safety risks.

According to Scania’s leadership, transport plays a critical role in everyday life, and automation offers new opportunities to deliver goods more safely and efficiently. The initiative also helped communicate complex logistics technology to a broader audience beyond traditional industry stakeholders.

Moving from Demonstration to Deployment

AI is no longer limited to experimental projects. It is now being integrated into real logistics operations. Scania’s autonomous mining trucks are now available for commercial order, with the first 40-tonne units scheduled to begin operations in Australian mining sites in 2026. Larger 50-tonne models are also planned, alongside future expansion into Latin American markets. In mining environments, driverless vehicles can operate in hazardous areas without exposing workers to risk. Continuous operations without fatigue-related downtime may also improve productivity while lowering operational costs and emissions.

At the same time, Scania and PlusAI are conducting hub-to-hub road trials on public highways in Sweden. These tests cover a 300-kilometre route between Södertälje and Jönköping, validating Level 4 autonomous systems under real operating conditions. Safety drivers remain onboard during testing as the technology continues to evolve.

The hub-to-hub model focuses on predictable routes between logistics centres. This approach allows autonomous systems to operate with minimal human intervention, making early commercial adoption more practical.

Autonomous freight technology has the potential to deliver measurable improvements across logistics operations. Key advantages include:

As AI adoption accelerates, supply chains are shifting from reactive systems to predictive and data-driven networks. Scania’s approach, combining autonomous vehicles, AI software, and real-world testing, reflects a broader industry transition.

THE KNOWLEDGE LAB : TRAINING ON HANDLING DANGEROUS GOODS: INTRODUCTION TO IMDG CODE FOR SEA TRANSPORT.

In line with its ongoing commitment to safety, compliance, and operational excellence, Consolidated Shipping Services LLC organized a specialized training session titled “Dangerous Goods Training – Introduction to IMDG Code for Sea Transport.” The session was held on 25th October 2025 at the HQ Conference Room and was delivered by Ms. M. S. Ardra, DG Specialist – LCL Operations Department. The training was attended by
18 participants from the Forwarding – Sales Department.

The objective of the session was to strengthen participants’ understanding of the International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code and increase awareness of safety protocols related to the handling and transportation of dangerous goods by sea. The IMDG Code is an internationally recognized regulation that provides guidelines for the safe classification, packaging, labeling, documentation, handling, and
stowage of hazardous materials, ensuring the protection of human life, vessels, cargo, and the marine environment.

The session enhanced participants’ understanding of the IMDG Code and its role in ensuring the safe sea transport of dangerous goods. It covered the scope, purpose, and importance of the Code in global maritime safety. Participants learned about dangerous goods classification, correct packaging, marking, labeling, and documentation requirements for compliance. The session also explained segregation and stowage procedures, highlighting how improper placement of goods can increase safety risks.

Special attention was given to the responsibilities of freight forwarders, stressing the importance of accurate declaration, proper handling, and strict adherence to safety regulations to prevent accidents and ensure safe transportation.

Building Regulatory Awareness and Operational Excellence

To make the session more engaging and practical, the presentation incorporated real-life examples of commonly used products that fall under the category of dangerous goods. Everyday items such as aerosols, paints, lithium batteries, and cleaning agents that are classified as dangerous goods under international regulations were showcased to demonstrate how they can pose significant risks if misclassified, improperly packed, or incorrectly declared. The training also provided detailed insights into critical documentation requirements, including the correct use of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and Dangerous Goods Declarations.

Participants were briefed on the importance of accurate and consistent documentation, as even minor errors can result in operational delays, regulatory penalties, or safety incidents. The session provided clear guidance on regulations, responsibilities, and best practices to ensure the safe handling and movement of dangerous goods, enabling participants to educate customers effectively and support business growth.

In addition, the session included a brief overview of the International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR), providing participants with a broader understanding of the dangerous goods regulations. Industry case references were shared to demonstrate how improper handling, misdeclaration, and non-compliance can lead to accidents, cargo damage, environmental harm, and financial or reputational losses. Interactive case exercises were conducted to reinforce safety awareness and enable participants to apply their knowledge through practical, real-world scenarios.

Fostering a Culture of Compliance and Shared Responsibility

The training session was well-received and successfully fostered a culture of proactive learning and regulatory awareness within the organization. Practical tips and best practices were shared to help employees process approvals more efficiently, leading to smoother operational workflows and enhanced customer satisfaction. Strong emphasis was placed on individual responsibility, reinforcing that safety is a shared duty across all functions, not limited to specialized departments. The interactive session encouraged active participation, allowing attendees to ask questions and clarify their doubts for a deeper practical understanding. Discussions highlighted the broader impact of compliance in protecting operations, human life, port authorities, vessels, and the marine environment, reinforcing that regulatory compliance is a core element of responsible and sustainable business practices.

In our continuous pursuit of operational excellence and workplace safety, CSS recently conducted a comprehensive Security Guard Awareness and Facility Training & Certification session on 30th August 2025 at CSS Dubai. This initiative reinforces CSS’s unwavering commitment to ensuring that our security teams remain at the forefront of industry standards — well-prepared, well-informed, and ready to safeguard our people, assets, and clients with professionalism and integrity.

Expert-Led Training Session

The training was conducted by Mr. Shaheryar Khalid from Quality International, an institution approved by KHDA (Knowledge and Human Development Authority) and ACTVET (Abu Dhabi Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training).

KHDA is Dubai’s government body responsible for ensuring quality and growth in private education and training, while ACTVET regulates technical and vocational education in Abu Dhabi, setting national standards for workforce readiness.

Comprehensive Training Curriculum

The training covered ten key modules designed to strengthen both technical expertise and situational awareness. Topics included the roles and responsibilities of security personnel, ethical conduct, and legal and regulatory compliance. Participants also honed their communication and conflict resolution skills, empowering them to handle diverse situations with confidence and diplomacy — traits that reflect CSS’s reputation for professionalism across all operations.

Practical Learning and Real-World Application

Hands-on sessions provided participants with practical exposure to patrolling techniques, access control procedures, surveillance operations, and incident reporting. The inclusion of emergency response and first aid modules ensured preparedness for situations such as fires, medical incidents, and security breaches. Scenario-based simulations encouraged guards to apply learned techniques in realistic conditions, demonstrating their ability to act decisively and responsibly under pressure.

Key Outcomes and Impact

As a result of this program, participants achieved measurable improvements in effective communication, protocol awareness, immediate emergency response skills, increased observation and documentation accuracy, threat analysis and crisis management, and the correct use of security equipment and technology.

OFF THE CLOCK : CSS GROUP TRIUMPHS AT THE ICC ARABIAN CRICKET LEAGUE

CSS Group recorded a significant sporting milestone with a memorable victory at the ICC Arabian Cricket League, organised by the International Cricket Council. The ICCA Arabian Cricket League Phase 1 formed part of the larger 2025–26 season, with matches played from December 27, 2025, to January 31, 2026. The tournament brought together 16 competitive teams, making it one of the most closely contested leagues in the regional cricket calendar. The final was held at the ICC Cricket Academy and showcased a high level of skill, discipline, and team coordination.

In the final match, CSS Group faced Z Sports CC in a tightly fought contest. Z Sports CC posted a total of 136 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. The CSS Group bowling unit maintained consistent pressure, restricting the opposition through controlled spells and sharp fielding. In response, CSS Group successfully chased the target, reaching 139 for 7 wickets in 19.1 overs, securing victory by 3 wickets. The result reflected calm execution under pressure and strong game awareness during the closing stages of the chase.

Team Performance and Future Aspirations

Several individual performances stood out during the final and throughout the tournament. Zia Mukhtar of CSS Group cricket team was named Man of the Match for his all-around impact and composure in crucial moments. Wali Afridi earned recognition as Best Bowler, delivering decisive breakthroughs that played a key role in controlling the opposition’s scoring. Leadership on the field was guided by captain Albin Alias, whose tactical decisions and team management contributed significantly to the campaign. A special mention goes to Danish Sarhadi, whose match-winning knock of 37 not out anchored the run-chase and ensured a steady finish in a high-pressure situation.

Beyond the final result, the tournament highlighted the growing depth and competitiveness of CSS Group’s cricket team. The performance demonstrated strong preparation, fitness, and coordination, reinforcing the team’s ability to compete at a high level within structured league formats. Playing against quality opposition across multiple matches provided valuable exposure and match experience for the squad.

The focus for the CSS Cricket Team remains firmly on future competitions. Preparations are underway to compete in upcoming tournaments, including the Ramadan Cup at the ICC Cricket Academy, as well as matches in Sharjah and Abu Dhabi. The broader ambition extends beyond tournament success, with long-term goals of helping CSS Group secure more championships and supporting players in progressing toward representing the UAE national cricket team in the future.
